Situation:  An early stage company developing products based on breakthrough membrane technologies needed assistance preparing to raise second stage capital.  The company needed to prepare a convincing business strategy, financial pro formas, investor presentation and business plan.

Solution:  Velerity worked with the senior management of the company to first develop a firm understanding of the market opportunity, and then develop an investor grade presentation, business plan and financials. 

Market Assessment for Hydrogen Generation Equipment Manufacturer

Situation:  An electrolysis system manufacturer sought an expert review of the marketing plan and strategy.  The objective was to strengthen their tactical marketing and sales priorities, and to strengthen bargaining power in certain financial transactions and sales contracts. 

Solution:  Velerity conducted an independent assessment of the client’s market, including assessment of specific market segments and give input on overall market data, while defining within each the addressable market segments and their size.  Additional work included benchmarking the strategies and condition of prospective partners including electrolysis equipment distributors and integrated fuel cell equipment manufacturers.

Product Development for Gas & Electric Utility 

Situation:  A $1 billion combination utility wanted to enhance financial performance by introducing new products and services, but was uncertain to costs, pricing, and market adoption rates associated with potential products and services.

Solution:  Velerity worked with the client to prioritize and characterize the business potential for a range of products and services.  Developed detailed financial projections, established product pricing, and established likely market penetration estimates.

Product Development for Gas & Electric Utility 

Situation: A large combination utility wanted to improve their customer satisfaction ranking through several initiatives, including product and service enhancements, but was uncertain as to how to proceed.  Important considerations included developing a robust initiative prioritization methodology, and having defensible projections of the economic implications. 

Solution: Velerity worked with the client to first develop then apply a robust product and service screening methodology.  A seven step product development process was developed, and a range of products and services were evaluated based on the company’s unique evaluation criteria, resulting in three initiatives.

Situation:  A hydrogen storage company sought investors to develop initial products centered on a chemical hydride solution for compact hydrogen storage.  A more definitive assessment of the market opportunity was required before pursuing development funds.

Solution:  Velerity was hired to establish the market opportunity and marketing plan, evaluating the economics and market sizing of the merchant hydrogen portion of the industrial gas market.  A detailed economic analysis was prepared complemented with interviews of market participants in the merchant hydrogen market.  The company was able to leverage the market assessment to attract additional development funds.
