  • Helped a gas company in Columbia, Promigas (CEO Antonio Celia), enter the telecommunications business, developing the strategy and business plan, eventually resulting in the sale of that company, Promitel, for $192 million.

  • For Sierra Pacific, put together the strategy and business plan for them to enter the telecommunications business. It resulted in the sale of the telecom company for $195 million.

  • Prepared the strategy and business plan for the telecom company Pathnet (CEO Dick Jalcutt), resulting in their raising $80 million to build out their network.

  • Prepared the strategy and business plan for telecommunications startup NEON (CEO Vin Bisceglia) resulting in a $20 million capital raise and eventually the sale of the company for $260 million.

  • Advised the senior leadership of Beacon Power, including the CEO Bill Capp resulting in $72 million of product sales. Arrived on the scene when their sole focus of selling backup power systems to telecommunications companies for their Remote Terminal Units which yielded zero sales after five years of effort. Strategic options were provided to Bill Capp including the ancillary services market, which Beacon was able to translate into $72 million of sales for the company for 40 MW of fast response energy storage for the ancillary services market in NYISO and PJM, systems which are still operating today.

  • Led the turnaround of the country’s largest district heating and cooling company in Hartford Connecticut, which was on the precipice of shutting down, basically operating in a death spiral, with uncompetitive costs driving out customers, resulting in even higher costs for the fewer remaining customers. The turnaround led not only to the company stabilizing its business model, but resulted in a significant expansion of the network.
